Vietnam's exports of wood and wood products to the United States have exceeded China for three consecutive years

According to the Vietnam Timber Association (Vifores), in the first five months of this year, the US market accounted for 60.4% of Vietnam's total exports of wood and wood products, becoming the largest export market for Vietnam's wood and products. This year, 68% of the international orders of enterprises came from the United States , among which cabinets and sofas are major exporters.

According to the analysis of Vietnamese furniture companies, the United States is in a period of strong recovery after the epidemic, and its purchasing power is still recovering. Statistics show that Vietnam has surpassed China in exporting wood products to the U.S. since 2020, and China has been the “king” of such products in the U.S. market for many years.

According to Furniture Today, Vietnam exported $7.4 billion worth of wooden furniture to the United States in 2020, up 31 percent from 2019, surpassing China's $7.33 billion export value and surpassing its import value in the same year. This level of exports from China is down 25% compared to 2019.
