In the first eleven months of 2017, Russia increased its sawn timber exports again, both in value and in volume terms, indicate the statistics published by the Russian Federal Customs Office.
Thus, during the first eleven months of the current year Russia exported 16.59 million tonnes of sawn timber. That is 11.46% more than during the respective period of the previous year.The total value of the exported Russian sawn timber increased as well. In January-November 2017 it came up to $3.656 billion having gone up by 25.35%.
In their turn, Russian log exports went a bit down in volume terms. In January-November 2017, Russian log exports went down to 17.65 million m3 while during the respective months of the previous year the figure equalled 18.23 million m3.
Thus, Russian log exports decreased by 3.13% y-o-y.
The total value of the Russian logs exported in January-November 2017 came up to $1.327 billion, that is 8.9% more than during the respective period of 2016.
